Pearl River Community College PTK chapter receives national recognition
The Phi Theta Kappa International Honor Society awarded five plaques to the Pearl River Community College chapter at the organization's recent convention in San Jose, California.
The Beta Tau Gamma chapter at the Forrest County Center was named a "Distinguished Chapter," and one of its advisors, Dr. Terri Smith Ruckel, received the Paragon Award for advisors with less than four years of experience.
Petal native and PRCC student Andy Sims also received a $1,000 Coca-Cola Bronze Scholarship. Beta Tau Gamma is ranked among the top 10 percent of PTK's 1,325 chapters in the United States and abroad.
