PRESCOTT, AZ (CBS5) -

Drivers using State Route 89A Spur, Fain Road, should expect delays over the next two weeks as Arizona's Department of Transportation does the final paving for the road widening project.

Starting today, April 22, Fain Road will have single lane restrictions from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m. in both directions Monday through Friday, with the potential of weekend work. During that time ADOT workers will be paving and restriping the road.

As the repaving work is being done at the intersection of State Route 69 and Fain Road northbound truck traffic will not be allowed to access Fain Road between 5 and 8 p.m. Sunday through Friday through April 26. Truck traffic going northbound will stay on SR 69 into Prescott Valley.

The construction zone will be clearly marked with temporary barricades along with significant road signs. ADOT has set the speed limit through the work zone at 45 mph. Once the work is completed the speed limit will be set at 65 mph.

ADOT is encouraging drivers use an alternative route during business hours. Drivers should also expect delays through the construction zone and are being encouraged to leave early to allow time for the delays. The project is expected to be finished by early May.

For further information on highway conditions throughout Arizona visit the ADOT Traveler Information Center at http://www.az511.gov.
