HATTIESBURG, MS (WDAM) -

The 2013 Miss Hospitality Crowing Ceremony was held on Saturday. 

University of Mississipi student, Ivey Swan was crowned Hattiesburg Miss Hospitality and William Carey University, Pearl Ugwu-Dike was crowned Lamar County Miss Hospitality.

After going through an interview and selection process, the young ladies were appointed as the two local winners.

“I’m so thankful for this opportunity,” said Swan. “I’m so passionate about the state of Mississippi, and the opportunity to go through the Miss Hospitality system and promote Mississippi in this way it’s just an amazing opportunity.”

“I never thought I’d be sitting here with a crown on my head,” said Ugwu-Dike. “This is just an irreplaceable opportunity.”

While they do have to begin preparing their speeches, the Miss Hospitality winners are focused on finishing up the school semester first.

The 2013 Mississippi Miss Hospitality Pageant will be held in Hattiesburg July 26 – 27.
