NEWS RELEASE FROM JONES COUNTY JUNIOR COLLEGE

ELLISVILLE – The honors continue to roll in for Jones County Junior College's Westin Stringer.

Stringer, a freshman from Terry, has been selected as the NJCAA Division II Pitcher of the Week for the week of April 1-7. The honor was announced Wednesday morning.

Stringer tossed a no-hitter on April 6 against Southwest Mississippi. The lefthander struck out two and walked three to lead the 17th-ranked Bobcats to a 7-0 victory over the Bears.

The Bobcats, 23-11 overall and 11-5 in the MACJC South Division, travel to Co-Lin for a 2 p.m. doubleheader on Saturday.
