A strong cold front will approach the Pine Belt this week, and with it, the chance of strong to severe storms.
Temperatures will remain on the warm side through Wednesday of this week. Morning time lows will only drop down into the lower 60s, with afternoon highs in the lower 80s. While a few showers will be possible through Wednesday, most of us should stay dry.
As we head into late Wednesday, a strong cold front will begin to approach from the west. This front will sweep a line of strong to severe storms through the Pine Belt overnight Wednesday and through Thursday. There are still some timing differences between the computer models, ranging from late Wednesday to late Thursday. We should be able to narrow down the time frame through the next couple of days.
Looking at the severe weather ingredients, the main threats look to be damaging winds and large hail. The tornado parameters look marginal for tornado development, but the threat can not be entirely discounted.
