Motorcyclist killed and daughter critical

YAZOO CITY, MS (Mississippi News Now) -

A Yazoo County man was killed and his daughter is in critical condition after a motorcycle accident Saturday morning.

Coroner Ricky Shivers identified the fatal crash victim as 52-year-old David Harris of Benton.

Authorities received the 911 call at 8:40 a.m.

According to investigators, Harris and his unidentified daughter were riding a motorcycle when the crash occurred at the intersection of Jerry Clower Boulevard and Old Benton Road in Yazoo City.

Harris was traveling north when an SUV apparently did not see him and turned in front of the motorcycle.

He was ejected and landed on the SUV. His daughter was thrown onto the roadway.

She was airlifted to University Medical Center with extensive injuries.

Harris was pronounced dead at the scene.
