GULFPORT, MS (WLOX) -

A Gulfport man has been charged with intentionally setting a fire that destroyed his family's mobile home. Timothy Joseph Cooley, 39, was charged Friday with a felony charge of first degree arson.

Firefighters were called to the 17000 block of New Orleans Street, near Canal Road, early on the morning of April 1. The fire was extinguished, and there were no injuries, but the mobile home was destroyed.

During the course of their investigation, deputies learned that Cooley had threatened to burn the home. Further evidence led to his arrest.

Cooley was being held at the Harrison County Adult Detention Center under a $50,000 bond.
