Integrity Tax Hattiesburg causes customer outrage

HATTIESBURG, MS (WDAM) -

Seven On Your Side is looking into the activities of a tax company that was never licensed to operate in Hattiesburg, and has left some local folks high and dry waiting on their tax returns.

For the last several days our investigative team has being looking into allegations against Integrity Tax in Hattiesburg.

Seven On Your Side has heard more than a dozen stories from people who have complained  about the service from Integrity Tax.

City officials and police tell us they too have received numerous complaints.

According to the city tax collectors office, Integrity Tax was operating without a license.

In a phone call with Integrity Tax Owner, Oliver Jackson, he denied lying on tax forms to get customer more money and says he has not broken any laws.

In a written statement Jackson said "Integrity Tax has closed its Hattiesburg location due to an ongoing dispute with the city of Hattiesburg Code Enforcement Division regarding our business license. If you are entitled to a refund, we will be sending out refund checks via certified mail, as your refunds are processed and received by us."

We are told the IRS is currently investigating all claims made against Integrity Tax Service.
