Institute for Disability Studies to hold fair housing workshop in Hattiesburg

The University of Southern Mississippi Institute for Disability Studies will hold a free, fair housing workshop at 5:30 p.m. on April 18 at the Jackie Dole Sherrill Community Center at 220 West Front St. in Hattiesburg.

The one-and-a-half-hour workshop will focus on fair housing, housing discrimination, the housing rights of individuals, how to file a housing complaint and other fair housing information. Light refreshments will be provided. Workshop materials are available in alternate formats on request.

The workshop is presented by IDS' Mississippi Fair Housing Initiative Program, through funding provided by the Mississippi Development Authority. BancorpSouth is sponsor of the Hattiesburg workshop.

    "He had skills that not everybody possesses," said former Wayne County head baseball coach Michael Gavin. "And the biggest thing was his work ethic. I never had a kid that would work as hard as he do." Gavin saw the potential in Dylan Snypes back when he donned a War Eagle uniform.
