Jones County fight between neighbors leads to stabbing

JONES COUNTY, MS (WDAM) -

Jones County Deputies responded on Sunday to reports of a stabbing on Nicole Drive in Ovett.

Upon arrival, deputies were told that a white female had been stabbed in the stomach and transported to South Central Regional Medical Center.

Deputy Richard Santora said, "The altercation began when neighbors asked Bobbie 'Pooh' Alexander to slow down because she was traveling at what they thought was a high rate of speed on Nicole Drive. When Alexander shouted back obscenities to the neighbors, the victim's mother walked to the suspect's brother's house to talk to him about Alexander fast driving."

Witnesses stated that they walked over to the neighbor's house where the mother and brother were talking after the victim came out of the house. The victim asked where her children were, saying the last they had seen them they were outside in battery powered toy cars. Witnesses said Alexander then became belligerent and began wielding two knives, eventually striking the victim in the stomach.

The victim was transported to SCRMC where she underwent surgery and is still hospitalized.

Bobbie Alexander was charged with aggravated assault and appeared before Justice Court Judge Billie Graham where bond was set at $40,000. Alexander posted bond on April 1.
