MESA, AZ (CBS5) -

The driver of a vehicle believed to be involved in two deaths during a hit-and-run in the far east Valley is in stable condition and could face charges, according to a Maricopa County Sheriff's Office spokesman.

MCSO identified the victims on Thursday as 46-year-old Clare Louis Kirby and 72-year-old William Phillips.

MCSO said the driver, 73-year-old Marie Blandford, of Payson, hit Kirby, who was riding a bicycle on Usery Road near the Bush Highway just before 10 a.m. Wednesday.

The Blandford continued down the road where it becomes Ellsworth in Mesa and T-boned a Honda pickup truck, driven by Phillips, at the intersection of McKellips road. Phillips also died.

MCSO said charges against Blandford are pending at this time.
