DPS: 1 dead in officer-involved shooting in Buckeye

BUCKEYE, AZ (CBS5) -

One person is dead following an officer-involved shooting in Buckeye late Tuesday afternoon, the Arizona Department of Public Safety said.

A K-9 was shot, according to DPS spokesman Carrick Cook.

The shooting took place near 221st Avenue and Van Buren Street at about 5 p.m.

No other information was immediately available.

    Licensed barber Steve McGill has been cutting hair for 27 years, opening his own shop in Columbia, MS in 1996 but he decided to close the shop because the bills were getting a little out of hand. “The bills kept going up,” McGill says. “So, I went back to the drawing board and I said "You know what? I'm going to build me a mobile unit.”
