Thanks to Petal teen area girls get free prom dresses

HATTIESBURG, MS (WDAM) -

Thanks to Petal High School sophomore Brooke Bullock several area teens had a chance to get a free prom dress.

Bullock held a Clothe the Country Prom Dress giveaway Tuesday at 28th Place in Hattiesburg. About 30 to 40 prom dresses were on display for the girls to try on and pick out the one that was best for them. Most of the gowns were donated by the Sp[Spirit Girls of Forrest General Hospital.

Bullock will be representing the Pine Belt in the Miss Mississippi Outstanding Teen competition in May. She was recognized by the organization for making a difference with her Clothe the Country campaign.

"I started Clothe the Country this year and it's just a broad organization that targets clothing donations, uniforms, prom dresses, coats and we've been able to reach thousands of people though it," said Bullock.

Bullock is also the 2013 scholarship winner for the Leaf Foundation.
