ALBANY, GA (WALB) -

South Georgia continued its tradition of being a hot spot for high school track and field in the Peach State Saturday.

Several area high school teams traveled to Albany for the 23rd Annual Smith-Benson Relays at Hugh Mills.

Westover's boys were consistently steady all day, including wins in the 4X100 and 4X200 relays, leading to a dominant overall win.

The Shaw High girls ran away with the relays, taking home 1st place overall.

The team of Ebony Cobb, Deandrea Allen, Kareema Grier, and Breeanna Mahone swept the 4X100, 4X200, and 4X400 relays to lead the Lady Raiders to the overall girls' title.

Morning highlights included a battle between two of the state's best girls' pole vaulters.

Lee County's Holly Ebbets, a two-time defending AAAA state champ, and Tift County's Katelyn Utley, a two-time defending AAAAA state champ, went back and forth all morning.

It was Utley taking home the title though, with fewer attempts at the final height of 11'6".
