Candidate unexpectedly drops out of Hub City Council race

HATTIESBURG, MS (WDAM) -

Two months after he announced he was running for a seat on the Hattiesburg City Council, businessman Chris Price is dropping out of the campaign. Price was running as an independent for the Ward Four seat currently held by mayoral hopeful Dave Ware.

Price is a realtor and is working on a project which could benefit the City of Hattiesburg.

In a statement he said, "because of the nature of my profession, I feel that where I can most effectively serve the community now is by continuing with this work, which is a critical part of Hattiesburg's future."

Price has endorsed fellow independent Mary Dryden for that Ward Four seat.
