Hattiesburg tornado Disaster Recovery Center to close March 27

The FEMA Disaster Recovery Center at the Ben McNair Recreation Center will close at 6 p.m. on Wednesday, March 27. The FEMA Disaster Recovery Center at the Ben McNair Recreation Center will close at 6 p.m. on Wednesday, March 27.
HATTIESBURG, MS (WDAM) -

The last remaining FEMA/MEMA Disaster Recovery Center which has been assisting victims of the Feb. 10 tornado will close on Wednesday, March 27.

It's located at the Ben McNair Recreation Center on N. 12th Ave. It was one of four that opened soon after the storm to help victims with financial assistance and other services.

The center will be open on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday of next week from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m.  It will also be open on Saturday, March 23 from 8 a.m. to noon.

Those seeking assistance from FEMA can still register online by going to www.disasterassistance.gov or by calling 800-621-3362.

The deadline to register with FEMA or to apply for an SBA loan is April 15.

Perry County Deputies set up driver license checkpoints on Old River Road and Pumping Station Road.
