Hattiesburg couple renovating historic old barn for special events

Posted: Updated:
HATTIESBURG, MS (WDAM) -

A barn built in the 1800s that originally stood in Cooperstown, New York, is currently being reassembled in Hattiesburg.

Aside from its history, the barn is assembled together with wooden pegs and huge wooden hammers.

Owners Nathan and Tori Banks always imagined having a barn wedding, but since they weren't able to, they decided to build one and give others the opportunity to have their events in a barn.

Although there's still a lot of work to be done, the Banks are already beginning to get booked. Their first event is scheduled for September.

Along with the barn, and the horse barn beside it, a lake will also be around the back.

For more information on the barn or to schedule an event call 601-270-1121.
