JONES COUNTY, MS (WDAM) - Jones County School officials say they are still investigating the circumstances surrounding a 6-year-old East Elementary student was left on for more than six hours Tuesday.
Superintendent Tommy Parker and Transportation Director Terry Graham walked the isle of bus 112 to see if it was possible to overlook a child.
Parker said the new bus seats are taller and closer. He said the policy is that anytime a child is left behind on a school bus unattended, the driver will be terminated.
However, Parker said the district will revisit its policy before making a decision in the bus driver job.
