Sumrall cancer survivor ships 90 gift baskets to St. Jude Children's Hospital

SUMRALL, MS (WDAM) -

Sumrall High School student Brooke Miley is all too familiar with the struggle that cancer patients go through.

As a cancer survivor and heart transplant recipient, Miley was determined to do a senior project that brought some amount of relief to patients at St. Jude Children's Hospital.

In collaboration with St. Jude, Miley is collecting gift baskets to send to some of the terminally ill children at St. Jude.

As of March 18th 2013, Miley has collected 87 gift baskets. You can drop off items to donate or baskets at Sumrall High School's main office. The deadline is April 10th.

    An Ellisville man has been charged with murder in the shooting death of his wife. Jones County Sheriff's Deputies arrested Whitney G. Kitchens, 42, on Tuesday after responding to a shots fired complain on Oak Bowery Road in Ellisville, according to a Jones County Sheriff's Department press release.  Deputies were advised that the suspect had shot his wife multiple times.
