A Lumberton resident received quite a shock when his February water bill arrived from the city.
The bill was for more than $13,000 and showed he used nearly one-million-gallons. A Lumberton City Hall employee says the bill was the result of a computer glitch. One of the meter read numbers wasn't factored in causing the error. She said the glitch affected around five customers. She caught most of them before they were mailed out, but this one slipped through.
