More than 50 people being laid off from Sabreliner Corporation

PERRYVILLE, MO (KFVS) -

Workforce officials confirm that more than 50 people are being laid off from Sabreliner Corporation in Perryville, Missouri.

The airplane parts manufacturer last had layoffs in December 2012. That makes more than 100 people who have been laid off from the plant since June 2012.

The company blames defense cuts as part of the sequester for the job losses.

A spokesman says 80 to 90 percent of its business comes from government contracts.

According to June O'Dell with the Workforce investment board, when workers are laid off they go to Workforce for help in getting training and to find new jobs.
