A Town Hall Meeting is scheduled for Tuesday night at the Hattiesburg Train Depot to go over plans for Phase Two of the Twin Forks Rising project.
For over a year a focus group and working group have been meeting to develop a plan that will lead to the redevelopment and revitalization of Ward Two in the city. Ward two encompasses much of the east side of the city.
Ward Two Councilwoman Deborah Delgado says the area has been overlooked for years. She says as part of the plan homes will be rehabilitated, affordable housing would be built, and new infrastructure and businesses would be brought in.
Delgado says the project is a multi-million-dollar, multi-year project. She's urging all residents and business owners to attend the meeting.
"In light of the recent tornado damage and all the losses we have suffered in this community we really need from those of you who are in the community to let us know what you would like your neighborhood to look like," said Delgado. "This is an opportunity for us to really get a leg up on our plans for Re-developing Ward Two."
The Town Hall meeting starts at 6:30 p.m. at the train depot.
