HATTIESBURG, MS (WDAM) -

The tornado relief efforts continue and as hundreds of families get the help they need, so do many students.

Aside from distributing disaster relief boxes, Kensington Woods Church of Christ spent the day preparing hundreds of meals for students attending Hattiesburg High School.

"We became aware of the fact that many of the students at Hattiesburg High School were directly affected by the storm," said Kensington Woods Church of Christ Minister, Mike Benson. "So we're taking 1,200 meals to Hattiesburg High today to students who are not able to eat."

Kensington Woods has prepared and served a total of 12,088 meals for the community, and thanks to the help of many church volunteers and Disaster Assistance, many students left home with a meal on Friday.

If you or someone you know needs food, cleaning supplies, or clothing, contact the church at 601-264-2945.

Kensington Woods Church of Christ is located at 415 South 40th Ave.
