HATTIESBURG (WDAM) -

A guilty verdict will send a Hattiesburg man to prison for the next 5 years.

The jury took nearly six hours to find Gerald Taylor, 29, guilty of accessory after the fact of murder.  He was sentenced to a maximum of 5 years in prison by Circuit Judge Bob Helfrich.  Taylor was accused of murder in the fatal shooting of Hattiesburg gun shop owner Edward Cameron.

However, Taylor denied having anything to do with it. He testified that he and Drakkar Fleming went to the pawn shop to pawn some things Fleming stole that day. But Taylor claimed he stayed in the car the whole time. Drakkar Fleming goes to trial March 19.
