Mississippi Power donates $100,000 to help in rebuilding

Mississippi Power's foundation is donating $100,000 to Forrest and Lamar Counties – which will provide disaster recovery assistance following the February 10 tornado.

Mississippi Power officials say half the money will benefit the United Way. The rest will be equally divided between R3SM and the Greater Pine Belt Community Foundation's disaster recovery fund. 

Ed Day, president and CEO of Mississippi Power says while the lights are back on, the power company realizes the affected community is still rebuilding.  Day adds he hopes the money will help those most in need.
