PD: Experimental plane goes down on Peoria highway

PEORIA, AZ (CBS5) -

An experimental plane went down on the Old Carefree Highway in Peoria on Tuesday morning.

The plane landed safely and then slid off the road.

There were two people on board. They weren't hurt.

They were able to get themselves out of the plane before rescue crews arrived.

No word yet on what kind of emergency forced the pilot to take the plane down on the freeway.
