HATTIESBURG, MS (WDAM) - An organization which helps adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities has received a $10,000 grant from the Greater Pine Belt Community Foundation.
The Arc Southeast will use the money for its new "Rise and Shine Program," which helps participants develop greater self worth.
A check from the Foundation's Ann Morris Memorial Fund was presented at the Arc's multi-purpose building Friday morning.
"We would not have had the funding to move ahead with this program had we not gotten this, so it's just tremendous," said Cindy Pennington, director of Arc Southeast Mississippi.
The Arc has been in Hattiesburg for 60 years.
