Thursday, the General Manager of Moore's Bicycle Shop Jenny Moore said she's working with The University of Southern Mississippi to distribute donated bikes to students who are in need of transportation to class due to the displacement of classes or student's living situation.
Moore says if anyone wants to donate a bike, please make sure it's useable. Moore says she and the staff at the shop will handle the tune up and safe keeping. Anyone can drop off a bike from Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. until 6 p.m., and Saturday 9 a.m. until 4 p.m.
"So, after hours I am tuning them up and trying to get the bikes out as soon as possible just because I keep hearing of several students in the community who need this service. I feel like if we can provide that we need to step up and do what it takes to immediately get this done," said Moore.
Moore says there is no charge to donate, and there will be no charge to the students. Moore's Bicycle Shop is located on Hardy Street in Hattiesburg.
