FEMA opens a Disaster Relief Center in Wayne County

WAYNE COUNTY, MS (WDAM) -

The EF4 tornado that ripped across Lamar and Forrest counties February 10th also destroyed homes in Wayne County.

Emergency Management Director Angela Atchison said nearly two dozen homes were destroyed along with miles of timber. FEMA has now opened a Disaster Recovery Center in the back of the fire department on Wayne Street next to the police department.

FEMA is urging everyone who sustained any kind of damage to apply for assistance.
