LEESBURG, GA (WALB) -

Lee County Trojans will have seven wrestlers competing at the GHSA traditional state meet in Macon.

After winning the team region title, Lee County won the area title two weeks ago.

Last weekend, they qualified seven wrestlers for state at the sectional meet.

Lamar Wynn, Alex Davis, Devon Yelverton, Tyler Morgan, Chris Rackley, Collins Tinsley and Colton Grove will all wrestle for a state title in their respective weight classes.

Davis, Yelverton and Grove are all highly seeded and all three wrestled at last year's state meet.

Something they say should help their chances this year.

"It is a different experience. it kind of messes with you to begin with. it helps out to be used to the environment," said Alex Davis.

"That is what it comes down to heart and being confident in yourself. knowing the moves you are going to do are going to work. You can't be nervous.  You can't go out there and worry about something that happen the week before," said Devon Yelverton.

"Everybody learns it takes hard work to get to state.  There is always alot of tough competition up there.  You have to give it everything you have," said Colton Grove.

The GHSA traditional state wrestling meet runs through Saturday in Macon.
