A round of strong storms is expected to move through East Texas early Sunday.
A strong upper level low along with a surface area of low pressure is helping to develop a cold front that will move through East Texas early Sunday, and bring with it showers and thunderstorms, some of which could be severe.
The Storm Prediction Center has placed much of East Texas under a slight risk for severe weather both Saturday night and Sunday.
The front is expected to move through early Sunday morning around sunrise, and we are expecting to see a strong line of showers and thunderstorms with it. Strong damaging winds will accompany the front and could produce wind gusts in excess of 60mph or even higher.
There is also the threat for a few isolated tornadoes, though the chances for that are much smaller. Hail and locally heavy rain are also possible.
All of the storms should exit to our east Sunday afternoon, but a few storms may linger into parts of Deep East Texas.
