HATTIESBURG, MS (WDAM) -

While the municipal elections are months away, Click Boutique along with Twelve Oaks and surrounding business neighbors hosted Speak Up Saturday Voter Registration Drive on Saturday.

Many residents stopped by and registered to vote, and along with receiving discounts at many of the local downtown businesses, they also were able to pose on the Instagram photo booth, where their pictures will be posted on the Click Boutique billboard across from USM all next week.

"I think sometimes we think that the local elections sometimes get looked over and really these are the elections that are going to affect you," said Co-Owner to Click Boutique Jason Leviere. "It's very important that we all participate and help things move to a place that we're going to love the city that we live in."

The next registration drives will be held March 9 at T-bones and March 24 at Keg and Barrel.
