COLUMBIA, MS (WDAM) -

Marion county teen Zachary Stringer has been found guilty of manslaughter by a Jackson County jury after almost four days of testimony and three hours of jury deliberations.

Stringer was 15 years-old when he was arrested in June 2011, and charged with the murder, after allegedly shooting his 11 year-old brother in the Enon community just East of Columbia. Late last year, Judge Prentiss Harrell reduced Stringer's bond despite petitions and protest from the community.

Following today's guilty verdict, Harrell released Stringer on the same $25,000 bond over the objections of District Attorney Hal Kittrell. Stringer will remain free on bond until his sentencing Feb. 25 in Poplarville.
