About 900 middle and high school age students from South-Central Mississippi were at Jones County Junior College Thursday to compete at the Future Business Leaders of America Conference.
The students competed in various categories to include computer problem solving, marketing, finance, business calculations and public speaking.
Winners of the competition will have an opportunity to compete at the state level and if they win there they will move on to the national competition.
Students in FBLA learn how to improve their leadership, business, and people skills.
"It gives me an opportunity to step up as a leader," said, Caleb Armour. President Mississippi FLBA. "It gives me a chance to step up to the plate and get myself known through out the state."
The state competition will be held in Jackson in April.
