Today, there are more than 37 hundred children in foster care in the state and close to a 150 of them are waiting to be adopted.
Tosha Slather, with the Mississippi Department of Human Service said of that 150 most of them are teenagers, sibling groups, and some medical fragile children that we don't have an identified family for.
Satcher said, "These children really want a family. Nobody wants to age out the system with no one to turn."
On Tuesday, Seven on Your Side will share personal stories of how adoption changed have several families lives.
