A Hattiesburg resident says her business offers new and progressive services during a family's time of need.
Elizabeth Gillentine is a managing member of Forrest Funeral Home on Richburg Road in Hattiesburg. Director of the Funeral Home, Butch Benedict officially opened the business during its ribbon cutting ceremony Monday morning.
Gillentine says she sees the funeral home as more of a community service. She added they offer traditional and contemporary funerals. It holds a chapel, planning room, and four funeral suits with reception areas. Gillentine developed the idea of an all inclusive funeral home based on her own experience.
"We really look at it from a total care aspect. You can come here and plan your flowers. You can have catering. In my case, when my mother passed away, I was sleep deprived driving all over town getting things ready to go, so we developed that aspect of the business from personal experiences," said Gillentine.
Gillentine added the chapel is also available for seminars.
