A potent cold front will approach Mississippi early Wednesday morning, bringing the risk of severe weather to the Pine Belt.
A strong line of storms is expected to form along this cold front Tuesday afternoon. This line of storms will trek across the southeast overnight Tuesday. For the Pine Belt, the current timing looks between 1 am and 10 am Wednesday morning.
Strong winds throughout atmosphere and unseasonably warm temperatures across the southeast will provide the energy for this line of storms. The ingredients will be in place for a few of these storms to cross over the severe limits.
Damaging winds of 60 – 80 mph are the greatest threat, but a few isolated tornadoes are certainly possible. Due to the fast motion expected with these storms, flooding will be less of a concern.
