ALBANY, GA -
The Albany State Lady Rams are in the thick of a conference race much thanks to their pint size guard April Thomas.
The 5'1 sophomore guard out of Bainbridge has been lights out this season and has earned the SIAC's player of week honors.
Thomas leads the conference in scoring at just over 17 points per game notching a season high 31 against LeMoyne Owen last week. She also leads the conference in three pointers made. She said she's much more comfortable in her role this year and puts in tons of work between games.
"I've been working a lot harder as far as you know getting in the gym more in my free time you know, shooting, working on my jump shot, taking it to the whole and shooting 3s. Things like that." Said Thomas.
Head coach Robert Skinner said "If we're to go anywhere. She's going to have to be the one to help us get there. I always so way have April Thomas and no one else there so it makes all the difference in the world."
