BAYOU CORNE, LA (WAFB) -

Crews are scheduled to begin work to develop a three-dimensional image of the massive sinkhole in southeast Louisiana.

Workers will use a "thumper truck" to send vibrations underground.

They will then take the data from this technique and other technology to create a 3D picture of the sinkhole and nearby salt cavern.

Louisiana officials authorized the process last week in place of drilling more observation wells.
