Urbanity Studios shares expert advice for brides and grooms planning a wedding..
Salt Lake City, Utah (PRWEB) January 16, 2013
Urbanity Studios, a stationery design firm specializing in personalized wedding invitations, interviewed eleven wedding industry experts from jewelers to hairstylists to florists to gain tips and trends that every bride-to-be should know. Urbanity Studios also asked the experts what they expect wedding trends to be in 2013.
Engagement Ring Expert, Barbara Baldwin, from O.C. Tanner Jewelers shared with us some great advice about ring shopping. She recommended that brides need to look for rings that match their lifestyle. If a bride has a really active lifestyle and uses her hands a lot she should avoid rings with diamonds all the way around the band. As far as trends, she anticipates Rose Gold (yellow gold combined with copper) to be a hot trend in 2013.
Wedding Dress Expert, Hilary Anderson, from Alta Moda shared with us that regardless of the dress purchased, she recommends professional preservation as a way to keep the dress as a keepsake for years to come. She also shared the top trends for 2013 will be Gatsby-style dresses and slim silhouette dresses.
Location Experts, Nicole Rock and Jared Boyd, from Grand America Hotel shared with us the number one question brides should ask when looking for a location is to ask whether or not the date is available for their wedding. They also shared with us the biggest trend they are anticipating is a shift away from huge 500+ person receptions to smaller, more intimate dinner receptions.
Wedding Cake Expert, Janell Brown, from One Sweet Slice shared that every bride should ask to see a portfolio to truly understand if the cake decorator can create the bride's dream cake. She also shared with us the biggest trend in cakes this year will be metallic icing and design.
Bridesmaids Fashion Expert, Moey Nelson-Carruth, a Nordstrom Visual Stylist shared with us that brides can find great options in all price points and recommends brides look at all retailers for the perfect look. She also shared with us that bridesmaid fashion is trending towards, color blocks and metallic.
Bridal Party Expert, Jan Magdelan, psychotherapist shared with us tips on how to choose your bridal party. She recommended choosing your party members based on how they can support you and help you through your special day and not out of obligation. She also recommended bride's be upfront with financial responsibilities of the party members.
Photography Expert, Nikki Winters, of Flying W Fotos shared with us that brides should absolutely find out if a photographer is in her budget and see photo proofs before she commits. She also shared with us the trend in wedding photography that encompasses different styles of antique, extra sunny and urban.
Wedding Invitation Expert, Meghann Kopecky, of Urbanity Studios shared with brides to inquire about what type of printing process invitation vendors utilize as not all invitations are created equal. She also shared that invitation designs will lean towards a 1920's Gatsby style in 2013.
Wedding Hair Expert, Kennedy Fitzgerald, of Salon O recommends brides ask a hairstylist if he/she works on sight the day of the wedding. She indicated this can help the bride with last minute adjustments and changes right before the wedding. As far as trends, she anticipates hairstyles will become much more natural versus sculpted for 2013.
Wedding Florist Expert, Gary Vlasic, recommends brides use in-season flowers. Not only will brides save money, but also will have flowers readily available. Trends for 2013 flowers will be more organic arrangements.
Wedding Planning Expert, Kristin Spear, of Soiree Productions recommends brides ask a wedding planner if she/he has worked with the venue where the wedding takes place. If the answer is yes, a much smoother planning process will ensue. Trends in weddings will revolve around rustic themes or monochromatic color schemes such as white on white.
