Synagro recognized for environmental stewardship in composting.
Houston, TX (PRWEB) January 16, 2013
Synagro’s South Kern Composting Manufacturing Facility has received the Silver Level Recognition for its Biosolids Management Program (BMP) from the National Biosolids Partnership’s (NBP). This achievement signifies that Synagro’s largest biosolids composting facility meets the requirements which supports excellence in biosolids management practices, exceeds or augments regulatory compliance obligations, and presents meaningful opportunities for public participation.
This Recognition is given to Biosolids Management Programs that have completed training, developed and implemented a formal BMP based on the principles of continual improvement embodied in NBP’s environmental management systems (EMS), and has completed an NBP approved audit recognizing the BMP as ready for a third party verification audit.
“Synagro is very pleased to receive this distinction as we are committed to running our business in accordance with tenets of strong environmental stewardship,” said Eric Zimmer, president and CEO of Synagro. “Our team has spent the last two years diligently working to reach this important milestone.
