A young Lee County wrestling team has already had some big moments this season.
They look to continue their progress at the Georgia High School Association state team wrestling meet this week in Macon.
The Lee County team edged Hardaway to win the area dual title and qualify for the first of two state meets in the wrestling sport.
The Lee County team is led by four talented seniors in Alex Davis Colton Grove Devon Yelverton and Chris Rapley.
The squad also has five freshman in the starting lineup and coach Tom Matheny is ready to see how they handle the best competition in the state.
"One is if you go in there and get beat pretty bad it could be a confidence issue. If they can go in and compete and be competitive, it would be a great plus for us," said head coach Tom Matheny.
"It is pretty encouraging. We have a lot of young guys. I am looking forward to see how they do against some of the tougher competition from across the state," said senior Alex Davis.
