PETAL, MS (WDAM) -

Volunteers from Carnegie Mellon University and Marquette University built a home for the Hattiesburg-area Habitat for Humanity Monday morning.

Through the Collegiate Challenge Program, 14 students from each university will spend the last week of their winter break finishing Habitat for Humanity's 60th house in Petal.

According to Habitat's Resource Development Manager Lee Anne Venable the home will belong to Navy veteran Daniel Litland by February.

You can help Habitat for Humanity by purchasing its 4th Annual Hoops for Habitat game held on Friday, February 8th at 7p.m. at William Carey University's Clinton Gym. Tickets are $8 in advance and $10 at the door.
