HATTIESBURG, MS (WDAM) - The Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Parade Committee of the Pine Belt kicked off the MLK celebration with a gospel fest Sunday afternoon.
The tribute to Dr. King gospel fest was held at the Hosanna M.B. Church in Ellisville.
Hundreds of residents supported the celebration and watched various performances from several Jones County choirs and surrounding areas.
The celebration will continue with an Open Day Celebration at Laurel High School on January 11 and will end with a day of community service throughout Laurel on January 21.
