Hub holiday party benefit Extra Table to help 647,000 Mississippians who suffer from hunger

HATTIESBURG, MS (WDAM) -

Dozens of residents supported the Growing Up in Hattiesburg holiday party on Saturday at the Train Depot and enjoyed a night with friends and live music by the Southbound Crescent Band.

The celebration raised money to benefit a non-profit organization known as Extra Table.

Robert St. John, founder of Extra Table, supplies mission pantries and soup kitchens with food to help hungry people.

According to St. John, 647,000 Mississippians suffer from hunger, but thanks to residents who support events such as the Growing Up in Hattiesburg holiday party 10-tons of food was shipped by Extra Table in Forrest County in the month of December.
