HATTIESBURG, MS (WDAM) - An upcoming social event for people who spent their formative years in the Hub City will not only give old friends a chance to reminisce, it will also help a worthy charity.
The "Growing Up in Hattiesburg" Holiday Party set for Saturday at the Train Depot will raise funds for Extra Table. That organization supplies food pantries and soup kitchens across the state with healthy food.
It was founded in 2009 by Hattiesburg restaurateur and author Robert St. John.
The party begins at 7 p.m.
"Crescent City Grill is doing the food, Mahogany Bar is doing the bar and half the proceeds from the door will go to benefit Extra Table," said St. John. "Southbound Crescent is doing the live music there. It's going to be a good time," he said.
Admission is $25.
