HATTIESBURG, MS (WDAM) -

Hattiesburg police arrested three more people on Wednesday in connection with the Christmas Eve murder of a Hattiesburg man.

Semmie Smith, 21, of Brookhaven was arrested Wednesday night and charged with the murder of Elester Sartin, 22, of Hattiesburg at the Pineview Apartments on Country Club Road.

Smith's brother, Chance Nicholas Smith, 19, of Brookhaven, was arrested Christmas night and also charged with murder. In addition, Sartin's brothers, Damian and Marcus are behind bars charged with armed robbery and possession of a controlled substance.

The motive, said police, appears to stem from a fight between two sets of brothers.

Sartin was pronounced dead on arrival at Forrest General Hospital after suffering gunshot wounds.

Neither the victim nor the suspects lived at the apartment complex.
