NEW ORLEANS, LA (WDAM) -

In somewhat of a surprise, only two Saints made the NFL Pro Bowl this season. Fourth-year punter Thomas Morestead was deservedly selected to his first ever Pro Bowl, while right guard Jahri Evans was selected as an alternate behind Mike Iupati of the San Francisco 49ers.

Drew Brees, who leads the league with 39 touchdown passes and 4,781 passing yards, did not make the roster, and instead was passed up for Green Bay quarterback Aaron Rodgers, Atlanta quarterback Matt Ryan, and Washington rookie QB Robert Griffin III. Neither New Orleans tight end Jimmy Graham, nor wide receiver Marques Colston made the list either.

Morestead, meanwhile, is close to setting a league record. He's currently averaging 44.4 yards a punt, which ranks half a yard longer than Andy Lee, who set the record only a season ago.
