Friend of victim in fatal west Jackson shooting speaks out

JACKSON, MS (Mississippi News Now) -

Jackson Police were called to the intersection of Hill and Lincoln Avenues before 2 p.m. Saturday afternoon, where a fatal shooting had occurred.

Witness told investigators 33-year-old Tommy Young was sitting in his silver Honda when someone walked up to the car and shot him.

Young was hit multiple times.

A number of family and friends arrived shortly after the gunfire. Many say they are sick of the violence plaguing city streets.

"People be dying like every two weeks, two or three people. It's been rough over here, and to loose him, that's another good person taken away at a young age," said Tracee, a friend of victim.

No arrest has been made in the shooting.
