HATTIESBURG, MS (WDAM) -

A supervisor in the Technology Department at the Hattiesburg Clinic was recognized Wednesday for his support of a citizen soldier who works in his department.

Representatives from the Mississippi Employer Support of the Guard organization presented Jerry Robinson with the Patriot Award. This award was given in recognition of Robinson's extraordinary support of an employee of his who is in the Air National Guard.

Josh Hazel is the Director of Clinical Service Systems and is a 2nd lieutenant in the 255th Air Support Squadron in Gulfport. Hazel nominated Robinson for the award because he appreciates the flexibility Robinson provides him with his military schedule.

"I think it's important to recognize employees who support military service obligations and Hattiesburg Clinic definitely does that," said Hazel.

"It's important to me that we afford these citizen soldiers the ability to serve their country in a way that does the country proud and serves God," said Robinson.

Hazel also presented Robinson a Challenge Coin bearing the insignia of his unit.
